Love-in-a-mist, or Devil-in-the-bush, an annual plant native to the Mediterranean region. The plant grows one to two feet (30 to 60 cm) tall and has lacy, bright-green leaves and white or blue flowers. The flowers are surrounded by ruffs of threadlike leaves, or bracts. The fruits are globular capsules. Love-in-a-mist is grown in gardens in North America.
