Paul C. Sereno
Sereno, Paul C. (1957-) is an American paleontologist who made a number of major dinosaur discoveries. His success resulted in part from his boldness in venturing to remote regions where travel is difficult both physically and politically.
Sereno was born in Aurora, Illinois, on Oct. 11, 1957, and grew up in Naperville, a large suburb of Chicago. His father was a postal worker, and his mother taught grade school art. Sereno excelled in art, and by high school graduation he had a strong interest in biology. He studied art and biology at Northern Illinois University, in De Kalb, earning a bachelors degree in biology in 1979.
