INGREDIENTS
3 cups uncooked old-fashioned oats 1 cup flaked coconut 1 cup chopped dried mixed fruit 1/4 cup sunflower seeds or chopped walnuts 1 cup sugar 1/2 cup milk 1/2 cup butter or margarine 6 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon vanillaPREPARATION:
- Combine oats, coconut, dried fruit and sunflower seeds in large bowl; set aside. Combine sugar, milk, butter, cocoa and salt in 2-quart saucepan until blended. Heat to boiling. Boil 3 minutes, stirring constantly; remove from heat. Stir in vanilla. Pour hot sugar syrup into oat mixture; stir until well blended. When cool enough to handle, shape rounded tablespoonfuls into balls; place on waxed paper until completely cooled and firm.
