Catholic University of America
Catholic University of America, an institution of higher learning in Washington, D.C. It is the national university of the Roman Catholic Church in the United States. The university has schools of arts and sciences, engineering, architecture, law, library and information science, music, nursing, philosophy, religious studies, and social service. The student body includes both Catholics and non-Catholics.
The university was established by the Roman Catholic bishops of the United States in 1887.
