Victoria Mary

Mary (Victoria Mary) (1867-1953), queen consort of George V of Great Britain. She was the daughter of the Duke of Teck and Princess Mary Adelaide, cousin of Queen Victoria. Mary was born in London and brought up there. In 1893 she married the Duke of York, who in 1910 became George V. Queen Mary was admired for her high sense of duty, her concern for the people's welfare, and her regal dignity. Her sons Edward VIII and George VI became reigning monarchs of Great Britain.
