Margaret Tudor
Margaret Tudor (1489–1541), a queen and regent of Scotland. Margaret was the daughter of King Henry VII of England, and the sister of Henry VIII. In 1503 she was married to King James IV of Scotland. On his death in 1513 at the Battle of Flodden Field, she became regent for her infant son, James V. Margaret was forced to surrender the regency in 1515. Later she struggled to regain her position as regent, but failed. Margaret's granddaughter was Mary, Queen of Scots. Mary's son, James VI, became James I of England in 1603 because of his descent from Margaret.
