Geography of Longview
Longview, Washington, a city in Cowlitz County. The Columbia and Cowlitz rivers meet here, 45 miles (72 km) north of Portland, Oregon. The Columbia is crossed here by a cantilever bridge with a 1,200-foot (366-m) center span. Fishing, lumbering, and the manufacture of pulp and paper are the main occupations. Longview was founded as a planned city by the Long-Bell Lumber Company in 1922.
