Geography of Arlington

Arlington, Texas, a city in Tarrant County, about midway between Dallas and Fort Worth. It is primarily a manufacturing and commercial city, but tourism is also significant. Located here are the Texas Rangers major league baseball team and Six Flags Over Texas amusement park. A branch of the University of Texas is in Arlington. Just north of the city is the huge Dallas-Fort Worth Regional Airport. The city has the council-manager form of government. Arlington was settled around 1850.
