Geography of Carlsbad
Carlsbad, New Mexico, the seat of Eddy County. It is on the Pecos River in the southeastern corner of the state. Potash mining, irrigated farming, and tourism are the economic mainstays of the Carlsbad area. Carlsbad Caverns National Park is nearby.
