Diamond Head

Diamond Head, a volcanic cone of solidified ash on the island of Oahu, Hawaii. It rises above the ocean near the eastern end of Honolulu's Waikiki Beach, reaching 761 feet (232 m) above sea level. The cone was formed by explosive eruptions that left a wall of ash around a volcanic vent. Diamond Head's name comes from crystals found in the cone that at one time were believed to be diamonds.
