Mount Hood

Hood, Mount, a snow-capped peak of the Cascade Range in Oregon. It is in Mount Hood National Forest, 45 miles (72 km) east-southeast of Portland. Mount Hood is a dormant volcano, last active in the mid-19th century. Its peak is 11,239 feet (3,426 m) above sea level, the highest point in Oregon. Recreational facilities include ski slopes, used throughout the year.
