Geography of Brockton
Brockton, Massachusetts, a city in Plymouth County. The city is 20 miles (32 km) south of Boston. The annual Brockton Fair, featuring agricultural exhibits, has been an important New England event since 1874. In 1649 the Indians ceded the land now occupied by Brockton to Miles Standish and John Alden. The city was chartered in 1881. Brockton has the mayor-council form of government.
