The Cheviot Hills

Cheviot Hills, a range of hills that extends for about 35 miles (56 km) along the border between Scotland and England. The highest peak is The Cheviot (2,676 feet [816 m]). The area is primarily used for grazing Cheviot sheep, although there is some farming. The hills are frequently mentioned in the prose and poetry of England, especially as the scene of many border battles and the site of numerous forts and castles.
