Plumbago, a low-growing garden plant of the leadwort family. It is about a foot (30 cm) high, with cobalt-blue flowers that bloom in late fall. The leaves, about three inches (76 mm) long, are tapered toward the stem and have hairy margins. The five-petaled flowers, each about a half-inch (13 mm) across, are borne in a dense cluster. Plumbago is native to China. The plant grows well in sunlight and in virtually any soil that is not too moist.

Plumbago is Ceratostigma plumbaginoides (formerly, Plumbago larpentiae) of the leadwort family, Plumbaginaceae.

The plumbago is a garden plant with cobalt-blue flowers that bloom in late fall.
