Fireside Cookie Recipe: A Festive Holiday Treat

INGREDIENTS

1 package (18 ounces) refrigerated cookie dough, any flavor Prepared icings, red licorice bites, black string licorice, gumdrops, mini chocolate chips and assorted candies

PREPARATION:

1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line 2 large cookie sheets with parchment paper.
2. Remove dough from wrapper. Using about 1/4 of dough, roll into 12X3-inch strip. Trim to 11X2-1/4 inches; set aside. Roll remaining dough into 10X8-inch rectangle. Trim to 9X7-3/4 inches; place on 1 prepared cookie sheet. Place reserved dough strip at top of rectangle to make fireplace mantel. Roll remaining scraps and cut into stocking shapes. Place on remaining prepared cookie sheet.
3. Bake 10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Cool on baking sheets 5 minutes. Remove stocking cookies to wire rack. Slide large cookie and parchment paper onto wire rack; cool completely.
4. Decorate with icings and candies as shown, attaching stockings to fireplace cookie with icing.
