Classic Family Praline Recipe: Simple Pecan Candy

 
INGREDIENTS

1 cup pecan halves 1/2 cup butter (do not use margarine) 1/3 cup granulated sugar 1/3 cup packed light brown sugar 1 tablespoon light corn syrup 1 teaspoon vanilla

PREPARATION:

  1. Line 8-inch round pan with foil, extending foil beyond edges of pan; butter foil lightly.
  2. Combine pecans, butter, sugars and corn syrup in medium saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Boil, stirring constantly, about 5 minutes or until mixture turns golden brown. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla.
  3. Pour mixture into prepared pan and spread evenly. Cool completely on wire rack.
  4. Remove praline from pan using foil as handles; peel off foil.
