Cake 2 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup cocoa 2 sticks butter or margarine 1/2 tsp salt 2 eggs 1 cup buttermilk 2 1/2 cup flour 1 cup boiling water 2 tsp. soda Orange Creme Filling 1 cup butter 1 cup shortening 2 T. Meringue powder 2 T. dairy creamer 1/3 cup hot water 8 cups confectioners' sugar 1/2 teaspoon vanilla 1/2 teaspoon butter emulsion 2 Tablespoon Orange Compound Orange Blossom Filling 1 cup butter 1 cup shortening 2 T. Meringue powder 2 T. dairy creamer 1/3 cup hot water 8 cups confectioners' sugar 1/2 teaspoon vanilla 1/2 teaspoon butter emulsion 2 Tablespoons Orange Icing FruitsPREPARATION:
Cake
- Cream sugar and butter and eggs.
- Sift flour with cocoa and salt.
- Add alternately with buttermilk.
- Mix soda and water and add to above ingredients.
- Pour batter into three 8-inch cake pans.
- Bake at 300 degrees until done.
Orange Creme Filling
- Mix ingredients in the order listed until smooth and fluffy.
- Add more orange compound to taste.
Orange Blossom Filling
- Mix ingredients in the order listed until smooth and fluffy.
- Add more orange icing fruit to taste.
