Winchester College
Winchester College, the oldest of England's famous independent secondary schools (called public schools) that prepare students for the universities. It is at Winchester. The school receives no public funds and must rely on fees, but fellowships are offered by competitive examination. The enrollment is about 680. Winchester College was founded by William of Wykeham in 1382.
