Century of Progress Exposition

Century of Progress Exposition, a world's fair held in Chicago in 1933 and 1934. It not only commemorated the 100th anniversary of Chicago's incorporation, but also emphasized the preceding century's achievements in all fields. Exposition architecture was largely modernistic, featuring lines, planes, and unornamented surfaces. The designs and color schemes had a strong effect on building and decoration in the following years.
