T.P. O'Connor

O'Connor, T. P. (Thomas Power) (1848–1929), an Irish nationalist and journalist affectionately known as “Tay Pay”. In the House of Commons, where he served from 1880 until his death, he was a persistent fighter for Irish Home Rule. He founded and edited several newspapers, for which he wrote nationalistic articles. He wrote a biography of Benjamin Disraeli, Life of Lord Beaconsfield (1876), portraying his subject unfavorably. O'Connor was born in Athlone and graduated from Queens College, Galway.
