The Association of American Geographers
Association of American Geographers, a professional society in the field of geography. It promotes research and encourages the application of geographic findings to education, government, and business. It publishes The Professional Geographer, a quarterly journal, and the monthly AAG Newsletter. The association was founded in 1904. It has a membership of about 7,000. Headquarters are in Washington, D.C.
