Madeira River, a main tributary of the Amazon River. It begins at the junction of the Mamoré and Beni rivers and flows generally northeastward through Brazil, reaching the Amazon 90 miles (145 km) east of Manaus. The combined length of the Madeira and the Mamoré is 2,100 miles (3,380 km).
