Geography of Grand Junction

Grand Junction, Colorado, the seat of Mesa County. It is 190 miles (306 km) west-southwest of Denver at the junction of the Colorado and Gunnison rivers. Grand Junction is western Colorado's chief commercial center. Industries include the mining of uranium ore and the processing and shipping of agricultural products, especially fruit. Colorado National Monument is nearby. The city was founded and incorporated in 1881.
