Pall Mall
Pall Mall, the chief thoroughfare of the St. James district, London, England. It extends from St. James's Palace nearly to Trafalgar Square and is bordered by St. James's Square, Marlborough House, and numerous palatial private clubs. The street derived its name from the croquet-like game called pall-mall, which was played at St. James's Palace in the 17th century.
