White fir
White Fir, a timber tree that grows in the United States from the Rocky Mountains to the Pacific Coast, chiefly in California. The white fir grows to more than 200 feet (60 m) tall. The white to reddish-brown heartwood is light in weight, moderately soft, and little resistant to decay. It is used in constructing houses and for boxes and crates, sashes and doors, and general mill work.
The white fir is Abies concolor of the pine family, Pinaceae.
