Trailing Arbutus, a perennial vine of the heath family. It grows close to the ground, and is also called Mayflower or ground laurel. It is found in eastern North America. The trailing arbutus has oval or oblong leaves that remain green throughout the winter, fragrant pink or white flowers, and woody stems. The plant is a familiar wildflower, but is rarely cultivated. It is the state flower of Massachusetts.

The trailing arbutus is Epigaea repens of the heath family, Ericaceae.
