Babies'-breath, a popular perennial herb of the pink family. It has a large number of tiny white flowers growing on a gracefully branched, feathery stalk. The plant is cultivated for use in bouquets. It grows one to three feet (30 to 90 cm) tall and has a large root, a continually dividing stem, and smooth, lance-shaped, light-green leaves. Babies'-breath is native to Europe and Central Asia, but now grows in North America and elsewhere.

Babies'-breath is Gypsophila paniculata of the pink family, Caryophyllaceae.
