Maidenhair fern
Maidenhair Fern, a genus of ferns, mostly tropical. The common species of temperate North America is a perennial 12 to 18 inches (30-45 cm) high. Its slender, blackish leafstalk branches into fan-shaped segments, each with five or more rough-edged, wedge-shaped leaflets.
The common maidenhair fern is Adiantum capillus-veneris of the family Polypodiaceae.
