Greenbrier
Greenbrier, Cat Brier, or Horse Brier, a prickly, climbing vine of the lily family. The woody, green stem grows from a tuber. The oval, bright-green leaves are usually five to six inches (13 to 15 cm) long. Umbrella-shaped clusters of tiny greenish flowers are followed by small black berries. Greenbrier thrives in moist, wooded areas from Nova Scotia southward to Florida and Texas, often forming dense thickets.
