Flowering Tobacco
Flowering Tobacco, or Nicotiana, a genus of annual and perennial plants closely related to the tobacco plant. They are native to tropical America. Nicotianas are widely cultivated for their attractive, often fragrant, flowers, which commonly open only in the evening or on cloudy days. The trumpet-shaped flowers appear in white, red, yellow, or purple. Short, gummy hairs cover the leaves and stems of nicotianas. Some plants have reddish, grayish, or bluish leaves. Nicotianas are tender plants that grow in full sun or partial shade. They reach a height of three to four feet (90 to 120 cm).
Flowering tobacco belongs to the genus Nicotiana of the nightshade family, Solanaceae.
Flowering tobacco has fragrant, trumpet-shaped flowers.
