Dicentra

Dicentra

Dicentra, a genus of perennial herbs. Dicentra are native to Asia and North America. They thrive in light, fertile soil. Smaller species, such as Dutchman's-breeches, are five to eight inches (13 to 20 cm) high; larger species, such as golden eardrops, may be five feet (1.5 m) tall. All species have feather-shaped leaves. The red, pink, yellow, or white flowers may be heart-shaped, as in bleeding heart; or two-spurred, as in squirrel corn.

Dicentra is a genus of the family Fumariaceae.
