Easy Cherry Apple Parfaits: A Simple & Delicious Dessert

INGREDIENTS

1 Granny Smith or Jonathan apple, peeled 1/4 teaspoon cherry-flavored gelatin 2 tablespoons cherry cola 2 tablespoons thawed frozen nondairy whipped topping 2 mini chocolate chips

PREPARATION:

1. Slice apple crosswise into 1/4-inch-thick rings. Sprinkle gelatin in microwavable pie plate. Dip apple rings in gelatin to coat and place in single layer in pie plate. Pour cola around rings.
2. Cover loosely with waxed paper. Microwave on HIGH 1 minute or until liquid is boiling. Allow to stand, covered, 5 minutes. Arrange rings on dessert plate. Pipe on whipped topping ghost and add chocolate chip eyes. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Note To cook 2 apples at a time, increase cooking time to 2-1/2 minutes. For 3 apples at a time, cook 4 minutes. This recipe appears in: Halloween
