Papago

Papago Indians a tribe of the Uto-Aztecan linguistic group, closely related to the Pima. Their name means “bean people” and was given them by the Pima; the Papagos call themselves Tohono O'Odham, meaning “desert people.” They have lived in Arizona and Mexico for many centuries. Their main occupations are farming, cattle raising, and the making of handicraft objects. Papago land in Arizona provides income from copper mining leases.
