Blackfoot Indians

Blackfoot (or Sihasapa)Indians, a small band of the Teton Sioux. They are often confused with the Blackfeet Indians, an Algonquian confederacy. The Blackfoot Sioux were closely associated with the Hunkpapa and Sans Arcs Tetons, with whom they made war against white settlers. They numbered about 1,300 in the mid-19th century. After the Sioux war of 1876, they were confined to reservations in the Dakotas.

The Blackfoot Sioux used skins to sneak up on buffalo.
