Henry Pu-yi
Pu-yi, Henry (1906–1967), the last emperor of China. He is also known by the title Hsüan T'ung, the name of his reign. He succeeded his uncle Kuang Hsü to the Manchu throne in 1908, and abdicated in 1912, after the Revolution. Pu-yi was coaxed or forced by the Japanese to come to Manchukuo (Manchuria), where in 1932 he became puppet ruler. He took the title of emperor under the name of K'ang Tê in 1934. He was deposed by the Russians in 1945 and was held in custody by the Chinese government during 1949–59.
