Horus

Horus, a god of ancient Egypt. He had several identities. One was as the sky (or sun) god; as this god, he was often depicted with the form or the head of a falcon. The pharaohs were thought to be the earthly embodiment of Horus. Another of his identities was as the son of Osiris and Isis, born after the murder of his father. Horus avenged the murder, but in doing so lost an eye, which he replaced with an asp. The divine asp became a symbol of royalty, worn on the headdress.
