Geography of Valencia

Valencia, Venezuela, the capital of the state of Carabobo. It is about 75 miles (120 km) southwest of Caracas, on the Cabrioles River near Lake Valencia, 20 miles (32 km) inland from the Caribbean. Valencia is a trade and industrial center in Venezuela's main farm region. It has cotton and sugar mills, meat-packing plants, shoe factories, breweries, and automotive plants. Valencia was founded in 1555 and served as the national capital several times in the 1800's.
