Geography of Trujillo

Trujillo, Peru, the capital of La Libertad department. Trujillo is a trading and processing center for an agricultural area. Liberty University, founded in 1824 by Simón Bolívar, is here. In the Chiclín Museum is one of the finest collections of Peruvian pottery, textiles, and jewelry. Nearby are the pre-Inca ruins of Chan-Chan. Trujillo was founded in 1535 by Francisco Pizarro.
