Christ of the Andes

Christ of the Andes, a bronze statue of Jesus Christ in the Andes, on the boundary between Argentina and Chile. The figure, standing 26 feet (8 m) high on a granite pedestal, was designed by Mateo Alonzo, an Argentine sculptor. It commemorates the 1903 treaty that ended a boundary dispute between the two nations.
