Geography of Victoria Land

Victoria Land, a region of Antarctica south of New Zealand. It is bounded on the east by Ross Sea and on the west by Wilkes Land. Victoria Land consists of high plateaus and snow-covered mountains, the highest of which is Mount Lister (13,200 feet [4,023 m]). The region was discovered by Sir James Ross in 1841.
