Red Deer, Canada, a city in Alberta. It is on the Red Deer River, 90 miles (145 km) south of Edmonton. Red Deer is the marketing center for the surrounding farm area. Large petrochemical plants are located near the city. The area was settled in the 1880's and Red Deer was incorporated in 1913.
