Geography of Waterford

Waterford, Republic of Ireland, the seat of County Waterford. It is a major port on Ireland's southern coast. Its harbor, formed by the mouths of the Suir and Barrow rivers, is some 15 miles (24 km) long. The city is noted for the fine crystalware that bears its name. Reginald's Tower, built in the 11th century, houses a museum with exhibits devoted to the city's history. Waterford was settled by Danish Vikings about 850 and was chartered as a city in 1206.
