Geography of Hue
Hue, Vietnam, a city on the Perfume River, near the South China Sea. It is about 400 miles (640 km) north-northeast of Ho Chi Minh City. Hue is an industrial city and marketing center for the surrounding farming area. It was formerly the home of emperors of Annam and was the capital of Vietnam from 1802 to 1945. Chief attractions in or near the city include the Imperial Palace and several royal tombs. Hue was the scene of a fierce battle in 1968, during the Vietnamese War.
