Scilla
Scilla, or Squill, a large genus of perennial herbs native to the temperate regions of Africa, Asia, and Europe. The genus is made up of about 80 species. Scillas grow from bulbs planted in the early fall. The plant may reach a height of 36 inches (90 cm). Long, narrow, grasslike leaves surround stalks that bear blue, white, or purple bell-shaped flowers. One species of scilla is the English bluebell.
