Quaternary Period
Quaternary Period, a term used by some geologists for the last period of the Cenozoic Era. It is also known as the Age of Man. The Quaternary, which follows the Tertiary Period, begins with the Pleistocene Epoch 2,000,000 or more years ago and continues into the Recent (or Holocene), the present epoch.
