Isomers, In chemistry, isomers are two or more compounds that contain the same number and kinds of atoms, but have different physical or chemical characteristics. The difference in characteristics is due to differences in the arrangement of atoms within molecules. In physics, isomers are two or more atomic nuclei that have the same number of protons and neutrons, but possess different amounts of energy.
