Fixture

Fixture, in law, an item of personal property that has been affixed to real property and thus become part of the real property. A house, for example, becomes a part of the land (real property) on which it is built, and when the land is sold the house goes along as part of the transaction. Similarly, such items as bathtubs and the furnace become fixtures once installed.
