Healthy Brownie Recipe: Black Bean Brownies - Easy & Delicious!

What you'll need: 1 20‑oz. box brownie mix 1 15‑oz. can organic black beans, drained and rinsed 1 cup water (try Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free Brownie Mix)(try Eden Organic)

What to do

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9 x 13" baking pan. Puree beans and water in a food processor or blender. Add puree to brownie mix, stirring slowly. Pour into the pan and bake for about 25 minutes, until a toothpick or fork comes out clean. Makes 24 small brownies or 12 generous ones.

Substitutions and Suggestions

  1. Mix 1/4 cup fair-trade chocolate chips into the batter for added decadence. You can also make Triple-B Brownies from scratch, using a recipe like this one from Have Cake, Will Travel!
