What Are Strategies I Can Use?
Here are some strategies to help you stay on track:
Be sure you understand all the parts of your treatment, including medication, psychotherapy or other treatment, exercise, diet changes, and stress-management strategies.
If you have difficulty remembering when to take your medicine, use products such as check-off calendars, containers for daily doses, and caps that beep when it's time to take a dose. These are usually available at pharmacies.
Let close friends and family members know about your treatment plan and ask them to help you follow it. For instance, they can remind you to take your medication or give you a ride to your therapist's office.
Be patient. It took time for your depression to develop. It will take time for it to go away.
