Alfred Rosenberg
Rosenberg, Alfred (1893–1946), a German Nazi leader. As an official spokesman for Nazism, Rosenberg taught that there was a German “race,” superior to others, and that “inferior” races, particularly the Jews, were responsible for Germany's ills. His main book, The Myth of the 20th Century (1930), contained the most complete statement of Nazi ideology.
Rosenberg was born in Reval (now Tallin, Estonia). After World War I he joined Adolf Hitler's party in Germany. In 1941 he became minister for the occupied eastern territories. The Nuremberg war-crimes tribunal held Rosenberg responsible for the murder of several million people, and he was hanged.
